Goodbye, 2011!

Hello again, friends!

Well,as you can see by the date of this post, it's New Year's Eve. It's a time when we look back and reflect on the year, and look forward to the year being ushered in. This year, I've been very fortunate. When changes happened back at my job in Wisconsin that I knew were not conducive to a good working environment for me, I looked elsewhere. Within a few weeks of my search I was offered my current job, and we were able to move back down South, where I could be closer to my family. We got an absolutely beautiful home that doesn't require me to go up and down stairs or have far too much space that we don't need (thereby keeping our bills at fractions of what we had in Wisconsin.) Hubby got a great job, and even though I'm ticked beyond belief that it means he's been working a ton of overtime, he's so good at his job, and they've certainly taken notice. I've gotten to plan a vacation with my bestie and her hubby to Disney- our first proper vacation (not to see family) since our honeymoon in 2006! I've excelled at my job, and been given opportunities to meet people like Richard Petty and actually speak to one of my heroes- John Lassiter. We welcomed a beautiful new niece, and thankfully, we'll get to meet her in a few short days. I got to celebrate 5 years of marriage to my best friend in the world. I've gotten to walk longer and farther than I did in Wisconsin, thanks to warmer North Carolina weather. I was relieved of over a years worth of pain after a single visit to a doctor at Duke, when he found out the problem all along had been my gallbladder, which had 0% function.

All of this, in a single year.

Sure, there were bad points. It would be pointless to say there weren't, but all in all, 2011 wasn't too bad. I have so much to look forward to in 2012, and for that, I'm insanely greatful.

So, I hope all of you are able to enjoy ringing in the new year with people you love. Thank you for sticking with me through my adventures in 2011, and I look forward to seeing you all there with me in the new year ahead!
