I don't want to get my hopes up. I'm bad about things like that. However, I'm a planner. I need to plan as much as possible in case it DOES happen otherwise I'll drive myself insane. *deep breath* I may be going to Disney in January.
My dad and step-mom were planning on trying to do a Disney cruise sometime in 2011, but they won a Royal Caribbean cruise for this month, so they think they'll be cruised out come next year. So, they wanted to do something to get everyone together again. My step sister (who I guess is now my half sister since she too was adopted by my dad) is currently in college and will have a break in January, so viola! My dad and step mother will be paying for everyone (otherwise there would honestly be NO way we could even think about going) and my step sister will be bringing her roommate from college so she has someone to hang out with. We did something similar back in 2009 when we went on our first trip to Disneyland in California.
The loose plan right now is to get a 2 or 3 bedroom Villa (they have some sort of timeshare plan that works with the Disney Vacation Club) so that everyone has some privacy. We're not sure which villas we'd be staying at yet, but since I have never considered that as an option (I'm a proponant of staying in a value resort so you can save your money for the parks) I don't know too much about them. I can't say that doing research is torture though ;).
Of course, things happen. There's a very, very real possibility that it wont work out. If that is the case, it's no big deal. We'll be moving to North Carolina next year and it's exactly 10 hours from my mom's front door to the main gates of the Magic Kingdom. I can happily make that drive. It would be nice to see my dad though. I haven't seen him since the aforementioned Disneyland trip in 2009.
We'll see. Again, I'm not going to get my hopes up. I'll do some research and I'll be extremely happy if it does go through, but if it doesn't it wont be the worst thing to ever happen (anyone who knows me knows that being tempted with a trip to Disney is usually pretty much the meanest thing that can be done to me.) After all, it would be REALLY nice to convince my mom and Randall to get back down to WDW and be able to have a holiday down there with them (hint, hint Mama!). ;)
So, for shits and giggles, I'll post the links to the different Villas. Let me know which 2 you like best and why. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Disney's Boardwalk Villas
The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge
Disney's Beach Club Villas
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas- Jambo House
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas- Kidani Village
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa
Disney's Old Key West Resort
This Mousekateer is off to take a shower and get ready for the Bowl-A-Thon this afternoon for MDA. Perhaps I'll share some pictures later tonight. We're also putting up the Christmas tree tonight (we're both too excited to wait until Thanksgiving). See ya real soon!
Alright here goes:
ReplyDeleteMy first choice would be one of the Animal Kingdom villas - I love the animal and african atmosphere, and how you look out the balcony onto what looks like an African savannah.
My second choice (although, really how can you go wrong with any of them?) would be Saratoga Springs - just the fact that it calls itself a resort and spa wins me over as it is, but the atmosphere looks modern and cozy as well.
:)
I'm with Kelly, as far as the Animal Kingdom villas seeming like the number one choice. She nailed it with the atmosphere and backyard safari view. Too freakin' cool.
ReplyDeleteMy second choice, though, would probably be the Villas at the Wildnerness Lodge. I love the location (between MK and Epcot) and the whole place just looks so amazing. The stream and geyser would be cool to see (and take pictures of) and the rooms look so nice. And the huge fireplace in the lobby? Awesome!
Excellent choices, ladies! I'm still torn. I really like the Wilderness Lodge because I'd be able to see Wishes every night, but there are some absolutely beautiful Villas out there. I love the decor of the Beach Club Nantucket style is just beautiful! We'll see what happens!
